Oral history interview with Charles Alhadeff, May 3, 1982.

Charles Alhadeff describes his father's emigration from the Isle of Rhodes and the growth of family businesses, including Palace Fish and Oyster Company, Whiz Fish Company, and ABC Pacific. He discusses the role of his father (Nessim "Sam" Alhadeff) in Ezra Bessaroth synagogue. Alhadeff's reminiscences of his early life include the Yesler Way neighborhood, social life, and education. He recalls his feelings about being one of the first Sephardic Jews to attend Temple de Hirsch Religion School, to pledge Zeta Beta Tau, and to marry an Ashkenazic woman.
